The former Carlos III Cinema was transformed and reopened as the largest gastro leisure space in Europe in June 2014. This 6,000 square metre multi-use space is home to the best chefs, allowing gastronomic pleasure to be mixed with the thrill of live performance.
Platea is arranged over 4 leisure and gastro floors. The adventure begins at El Patio (ground floor) where you discover the first of many delicious aromas and are captivated by the charm of the space itself. Here you can enjoy Spanish croquettes and home-made tortillas that will bring childhood memories flooding back; alongside tempura, salads and sandwiches. Indulge yourself in the tastes of the sea with oysters and octopus: sample the most Spanish of flavours with the very best acorn-fed cured ham and our typical pickles. All accompanied by a perfectly pulled draft lager or a tipple from our varied wine, vermouth, Cava and Champagne list, at the most spectacular bars. A variety of Mediterranean and international cuisines combined with cutting edge international cuisine can be found in El Foso (lower ground floor) which brings together rice dishes, hearty stews, flame grilled meats, gourmet burgers and free-range chicken, featuring surprising and exciting dishes such as the Peruvian ají de gallina (creamy garlic chicken), Yucatan-style escabeche de parrotxa (pickled sardines), sashimi, dim sum, a variety of pizzas and focaccias: the unmistakable flavours of Peru, Mexico, Asia and Italy. On the 1st floor is Canalla Bistro Madrid restaurant, the most eclectic, rebel and cosmopolitan restaurant of chef Ricard Camarena, distinguished 3 times with the Michelin star, and revalidated 3 Soles Repsol that brings a gastronomic proposal that break the rules. Platea is fully accessible for all, with a lift at the Marqués de Zurgena entrance and lifts connecting each floor inside the complex.

Smoking is not permitted at Platea.
We open 12.00 to 00.30 Sunday to Wednesday and 12.00 to 02.30 Thursday to Saturday. Different opening times may apply on bank holidays. Canalla Bistro by Ricard Camarena is open from Wednesday to Sunday. Gold Gourmet is open 09.00 to 21.00 Monday to Saturday and 10.00 to 21.00 on Sunday. Mamá Framboise is open Monday to Saturday 09.00 to 21.00 and Sunday 10.00 to 21.00.

Platea is a gastronomic leisure space which can only be experienced fully by enjoying the products on offer. For this reason, we do not allow visitors to bring their own food and drink into the space.
Yes, we have a number of gluten-free dishes at Platea. Just ask us!
